Welcome to the Fall 2025 Semester with Sensei Sean, Sensei Ashton, and Sensei David. Please be sure to read all information below, especially under "IMPORTANT NOTICE". That's where class changes will happen, homework, events, and other changes will be. The "GENERAL INFORMATION" portion has the weekly schedule for each location along with the address.

HOMEWORK
Be helpful and social.
***For ease and speed of departure from class. Please write
down the homework on a small sheet of paper with the student’s name, sign it,
and bring it to class. It will be exchanged for a ribbon.
-If you were given a workout sheet please be sure to get it
signed! There is an attached copy of the workout sheet in case it was lost.

TEST DATE CHANGE FOR FREEDOM ONLY!!
The testing date has been changed to Saturday, December 13,
2025, due to Dysart ending their classes for Christmas Break on December 19,
2025.
Please be sure to schedule make up classes as soon as
possible.

TOY DRIVE
ActivStars Athletics is hosting a toy drive for Family
Promise to support homeless families in our community.
If you would like to participate, please bring a small,
unwrapped NEW gift suitable for a child aged 12-18 to class, and hand it to
your instructor or class secretary. The deadline for donations is the week of November
22 – December 6.
Gift Ideas:
Durable toys, educational games, stuffed animals, dolls,
coloring books with crayons, puzzles, building blocks, storybooks, Pay-Doh, balls, diaries, action figures, toy
cars/trucks/boats/airplanes, jewelry, and more!
Family Promise has specifically requested gifts for
children aged 12-18, as they are often harder to provide.

STUDENT RELEASE FROM FACILITY
Parents/Guardians must come inside to pick up their
students. Students will not be released unless accompanied by a
Parent/Guardian. This is to ensure the safety of each student. If you feel your
student can be released without supervision, please fill out the attached Student
Walker Form.

ABSENCES
Please check the absenteeism list at the check-in desk for
absences for your student. The list will also include students that were
checked-in for class online, but did not make it to class in person. Absences
include classes missed due to late registration. If your student did not
register until the third week of class, the first two weeks of class will need
to be made up.
All absences must be made up by the following testing dates:
- Ashton
Ranch: Thursday, December 18, 2025
- Freedom
Traditional - Saturday,
December 13, 2025

TESTING INFORMATION
Please be sure to send the
following information to Sherill as this will speed up the check-in process on
testing day.

assistance with the belt size, please see Sherill or Leah. We will have belt
samples for sizing.
TESTING
FEE: $12 per student
Note: The “testing
fee” is paid for through the APP as well, please check on the “testing” fee
button to pay the $12
testing fee the day of testing.
IMPORTANT TESTING INFORMATION
1. Testing will be held at your
regular class times – we try to stay within each classes time frame, however
with large classes we may run a few minutes over, we appreciate your patience
if this does occur.
2. Perfect attendance is
required before testing. Students will be allowed to test if they have 1 or 2
absences, if the absences are paid and the “make-up” classes are attended
before the semester ends. Students with 3 or more absences will not be allowed
to test this session but should still plan on attending class. Speak to your
instructor or class assistant for more information on make-ups. Make-ups cannot
be done on testing night due to time constraints.
3. All students are required to
attend class on testing day; however, they are NOT required to test. Students
who do not want to test will participate in a practice test.
4. The fee for testing is $12.00
plus the regular class fee. If you have prepaid the entire semester you will be
charged $12.00 for testing. On testing night, students will individually check
in with the class assistant or instructor.
5. Belts are NOT sold; they are
earned by students! Belts are free to students when they pass the test.
6. Spectators are not allowed to
watch during testing. The students are nervous enough without an audience. Furthermore,
we need a quiet atmosphere for the testing. We appreciate your understanding
and support!
7. Testing day/night may run a
little longer than a normal class, we appreciate your patience!
8. Students are always
encouraged to practice outside of class, but if they have attended class
regularly, they should be adequately prepared for the testing!
9. Do not call the office or the
instructor to see if a student passed. Certificates and awards will be
presented on Awards Night/Day, which will be held on the dates below.
Information on the ceremony will be provided the day of testing. Remember that
ALL students having perfect attendance will receive a certificate.
10. Students are increasing in
rank exactly as they should be if they advance one rank at a time. Some
students will skip ranks if the instructor thinks that they are ready.

COMING TO CLASS
** Please note: if you have not created an ActivStars
Athletics account please do so.
*** If you are unable to check-in online please contact the
office (480-571-7689) to merge your account with your student's name. They will
need your login information and password.
* Parents please be sure to CHECK-IN ONLINE PRIOR TO
COMING TO CLASS every week. Check-in can be done prior to the student's
class day.
** You will not need to do this for the first
class. They were checked-in during the data entry portion of the ActivStars
Athletics roster.
** Online Check-In can be done through the ActivStars
App or on the ActivStars Athletics Website (the link is in my signature below)
* Parents please check-in with the class secretaries upon
arrival every week, and sign the roster sheet. If they are not checked-in in
person, then they will be marked absent.
** This is to ensure proper attendance for each
student
* Please be sure to read the attached Parent Helper
Guidelines if you would like to participate as a Parent Helper
* All persons aged 18 and over must sign the yellow sheet at
the check-in desk to ensure the safety of the students.
