Hello Parents and Students!
Welcome to the Summer Semester with Sensei Sean Milligan! Parents/Guardians will need to sign the YELLOW PARENT HELPER SHEET prior to entering the Gym/Cafeteria. Please read the PARENT HELPER GUIDELINES below.
HOMEWORK : Students will receive a ribbon if they have done their homework. Currently it is the use of "Yes, Sir" OR "Yes, Ma'am". Write down that your child has done the homework on a piece of paper and bring it to Sensei Sean. **If your child has already done the homework, and received their ribbon it does not need to be done again.
BELT RANK UP FOR STUDENTS : You will notice that students received a black piece of tape that went around their belt. The reason for this is your student has made it a 3rd of the way through the semester and has ranked up. If your student was absent the day that these ranks were given they will receive it when they return, however, in order to receive a new belt at the end of the semester your student will need to make up the class that was missed. See a Class Secretary to receive your student's stripe and details on make up classes. If your student does not yet have a belt, please see a Class Secretary so one can be ordered. Once received, the stripe will be added.
RED BELTS AND ABOVE - THERE WILL BE NO CLINICS THIS SATURDAY, JULY 1.
*For those who were unable to pay for CLINICS the first time around, you may pay for CLINICS this week. Thank you!

PARENT HELPER GUIDELINES
ActivStars Athletics takes great steps to provide a safe place and the best -uninterrupted learning environment that we can.
WE WANT TO STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF THESE CLASS/PRACTICE GUIDELINES:
* If you sign in as a PARENT HELPER, then you will be required to assist with class/practice. PARENT HELPERS are NOT ALLOWED to sit down and merely observe the class. If we allow this then other parents will view this as unfair.
* Please sign the YELLOW PARENT HELPER sign-in sheet before assisting in class/practice
* Parent Helpers AT NO TIME may discipline students, always alert the Instructor or Coach to problems. ALWAYS BE COURTEOUS & POLITE WHEN TALKING WITH STUDENTS & PARENTS.
* Please use a calm and reassuring tone of voice while talking to students.
* Use positive reinforcements towards students. EXAMPLE, "Good job, you're doing very well!" Never "Belittle a student."
* Parent helpers must always GO IN PAIRS when escorting students to bathrooms. If no other parent helpers are available, have the class secretary or advanced student assist you.
* Please be as quiet as possible during class/practice, noisy helpers will be asked to wait outside.
* Parent Helpers AT NO TIME may get into inventory/merchandise, drop box, or class materials without the consent of the instructor or coach.
* Please dress in appropriate clothing to assist. EXAMPLE, do not wear bikini tops, miniskirts, T-Shirts with foul language, etc.
HELPFUL TASKS TO ASSIST DURING INSTRUCTION
* DOOR GUARD: Primary duty is to effectively guard all exits, do not allow students to leave the facility unless with a parent or guardian.
* Keep a helpful eye on students, look for students who may have to use the bathroom or students who may be getting sick. Watch for dangerous situations and advise the instructor/coach immediately.
* Help with lining up students and preparing students for instruction.
* Watch instructors teaching gear and belongings.
* Help to keep the facility clean and parents in their designated areas to wait for pick-up. Assist with putting the facility back in order at the end of the day/night.
* Help with holding BODY SHIELDS, etc.
** Any further questions, concerns, or comments should be directed to your instructor or coach.
